Other car forums

I belong to other vehicle forums (not Svx's). I can really appreciate this one. The others are filled with owners who give out solutions based on guesses rather than experience. It is so frustrating getting an answer. This forum rocks!

I just got on a rx7 forum and I totally agree, it's crap comparatively. This forum may not be perfect, but its pretty close.

The Mazda 6 forum is not great most of the time nobody responds to my questions. I guess the focus is on upgrading but I am only really interested in maintaining.
Nasioc is good I like the classified and regional sections, I'm just not on there much since it is mostly modern Subarus.
Interesting enough, I was on the Honda Odyssey forum for a while when I was thinking of buying one, those guys were great friendly, helpful enthusiast.

i've found that you really need to read the forums for a while until you realize who really knows what they're talking about, and who posts just to see their words on a computer screen.

this doesn't just apply to car stuff. i'm researching mods to my guitar amp, and the information is all over the place. :wtf:

I agree. But some responses are so ridiculous.
As an example: (post) I can't start my car, what should I do?
(response) Do you have air in your tires?

Ive seen people perform mods on their expensive turbo cars, then come to the forum to ask what the mod does. WTF?!?!?

on USMB we started dropping the hammer on people like this.

We want to have a site that has serchable answers that are correct.

Far as car forums go, this one is more useful than most.
I am not a mechanic or fabricator, so all the how to type stuff on here is priceless to me.
If not for this forum, I could not be an SVX owner. Thanks everyone!

I'm clueless, yet people here hold my hand one day so I can read an error code, the next day they discuss the value of MEP (yes, I found that thread).

Under the bonnet, this place reeks of enthusiasm and confidence. Couldn't ask for more. I've learned so much about cars in a few months here I've become the "infobank" in my circle.

And I never even touched anything... ah.. guess that makes me one of those "read that somewhere" guys My sharing will be asking, not answering.

Same here. I would not have bought the silver if not for the forum and the excellent SVX mechanics that I have connected with through the forum. Svxfiles, tomsvx and nate1986. Also a shout out to all those such as Hocrest and manarius who have helped with so much advice and parts.
