Surprised ... I've been holding my breath

.. ever since I pulled my '92 Ebony out of storage, put a bit of work into it along with a new paint job and some BBS STi wheels and then put it back on the road. It must be the kind of "bit of work" I put into it .. for example, it included the ECUTune TCU and ECU for a '92.

That was 16 months ago. Given my history with the SVX, I have been holding my breath throughout those 16 months for the next "thing" to break, to happen unexpectedly. However, there has been nothing but sweet smooth start-up and equally sweet motoring since the day I put it back on the road. Nice burble from the exhaust, no oil leaks, no ATF leaks, smooth shifts, struts are only a couple of yrs old, maybe 20,000 kilometres on them.

I'm very glad I kept with this car and (slowly) ironed out all of the legendary SVX issues. My mechanic and I have had many conversations and have undertaken staged work that has resulted in this car becoming by far the best car I have ever owned. It's a joy to drive each time I climb into it.

And I'm hoping that with very regular maintenance and intelligent decisions from now on, I can keep it in decent shape for another 10 or 15 years.

Only thing that doesn't work is the gasoline level visual gauge.
