One thing to consider is that even though the SVX uses a fair amount of fuel in the city, it uses much less when you are out on the highway! On a recent highway trip, at a constant 110 km/h, with the climate control on, I recorded an average fuel consumption of 7.9 L / 100 km!! Jason.

My view on those devices is that if they actually had a tangible benefit, then why weren't they fitted by the manufacturer when the car was first built? One thing that I can suggest to improve your fuel economy - replace your O2 sensors. My fuel economy improved noticeably after I replaced them. According to Subaru, the OEM O2 sensors cost over $500 each! However, NGK have a direct plug-in replacement for the OEM O2 sensors, at about $100 each! The part number for the SVX is OZA446-E55. Jason.

I was thinking that they would not be worthwhile either, but my mum and dad had one fitted to their Lexus four wheel drive, and it saved them $40 on a 800km trip. They are stoked !
Just thought I would ask if anyone had done it on the SVX, but I will certainly talk to my mechanic about the O2 sensors after I get the car. Thanks !! |

Countess please note
Hey there, I am selling the rare red one everyone has been talking about. Its a 1995, first sold 1996, with around 110Ks. It is excellent all around and I am selling it for genuine reasons- ie: there is no problem with the car. Everyone knows all the specs- so I won't bore you with the details, except to say it is 100% ORIGINAL, as the day it first rolled out of Subaru Japan. There are some photos in my locker. Or you can PM me for anything further. Cheers, Mark.
