I can map out a cruise route, and possibly even get some others to join us. I know the Fiero group around here usually runs a cruise, and if you guys are up for it maybe we could run with them (although it'd be more along the lines of them trying to keep up lol)

Re: Activities for Reading 13

Even without the Fiero group, I can still plan a cruise. Or not, totally up to the group. But I'd like to know in advance who is interested before I plan one. I dont want to spend hours upon hours planning a cruise that only 3 people are willing to run.

I think it would be kind of nice to have another club there, more car people milling around and more vehicles to check out. Doesn't really matter to me what make.

Anyone ever go to a Carlisle? It would be great hold a meet there at the import show.

[QUOTE=green_eyed_lady;699304]Harry,

Actually, that's the legislation that forced me to get on board. I started reading up on all of the other misogynistic bills being introduced (and passed!) by legislators out there (some are WOMEN!!!) and it got my blood to boiling. I could not BELIEVE what they proposed! And it's just the latest in a series of my-religious-beliefs-trump-your-personal-freedoms bills being passed around the country.

Oh, and on a side note, Rush Limbaugh will burn in HELL. With any luck, while he is still alive and we can watch. (Post in on YouTube, ok?)[/

I am game for a "CRUISE" .... It would be a great event. But keep in mind too that we probably should split up into small groups, because the year we had one, we had quite a number of vehicles and the stop lights / stop signs split people up and the ones at the tailend didn't know where to go ...

Re: Activities for Reading 13

As I recall, last year almost everyone of our small group did the cruise.

Re: Activities for Reading 13

Like I said, give me a definite yay or nay on the cruise and I'll map something out. If we can get a head count of who's in, all the better. I can map out a route with little to no stop signs/lights that does 1 giant loop, sticking mainly to back roads with twisties Or even a cruise out to the Pagoda/Skyline Drive in Reading by taking the back roads (and believe me, there are a lot of fun ones for you autoX/rally fans )

Speaking of Carlisle, I plan to throw a 1 day pass into the raffle pool for any of the 2012 season shows.

Re: Activities for Reading 13

I now do not know IF Ashley will be coming to Reading to buff cars or not.
I have been trying to get in touch with him since the first of the month, and stopped out at his place of work four times, leaving messages for him to call me.
If there are any other buffers,(Jerry, redlightningsvx) please step forward.

Did you say that some members are going to be in the Buff? If so, I hope there are a few gals too.

Re: Activities for Reading 13

Buffers or Buffy notwithstanding, I have some thoughts/questions. It's nice the group is flexible and sort of coalesces around activities at Reading, but it would be better to plan a bit.

For next year, I'd like to suggest that we start a thread that's just for volunteer organizers and helpers. People could put their "I'm willing to help" entries there. Also, it might be good for one of the previous planners to lay out what actions need to be taken (and a lead time?) for meets like Reading. My local car club had trouble organizing their events until the prez created a list of "jobs" - e.g., coordinate registration, vendors, door prizes, or the 50/50 - and gave a one-line description of the effort involved. This really increased participation as volunteers know what they were getting into, who has related tasks, and that they won't have to try to create a car show by themselves.

Regarding this year, is there anything being considered for Thursday night? And is a dinner at the Cafe a possibility for Sat (or Fri) night again this year? I don't want to be off on a cruise or fooling around when fun food stuff is happening....

Finally, for this year, whoever knows how Reading plays out - or for future meets, is the coordinator for activities - could post a list of events along with ball-park timing. Even a "Saturday night: Hang out with crowd in HI parking lot, and hold raffle, starting at 8-ish, to whenever...." entry could be helpful for noobs. I remember wondering before my first Reading.

Regardless, I can't wait for this weekend!
