Cool Re: Polar Blast...........Meh.

Hey Marcus, good to see you have some of that white stuff!!!. I was almost thinking about taking mine to work today - but then realized that if I did some idiot Auckland driver would end up going into it. 4WD should be a standard on all cars.

Re: Polar Blast...........Meh.

Heres my ones burried in Snow. I wished I had a running SVX or XT6 to drive in the snow.
Im Just using my Legacy instead. When my wheels slip I just touch the button and engadge the part time 4wd. Only prob is sometimes the 4wd gets stuck on

Re: Polar Blast...........Meh.

How often do you get a dump of snow like that? I thought it was very rare in the lowlands and coastal NZ.

In ChCh if we are lucky to get snow on the ground every couple of years...
We had 2 big Snow storms here this year. In July we had one too.
Last Major Snow storm I remember is in 1992. ( I think there was a reasonal snow in 2004 or 05? )
Inland south Island gets alot of snow aswell as Southland.

Auckland got a little sprinkling on the ground. They were all going mad with excitement
Last time they had snow on the ground was sometimes in the 40s or 1950s I think they said in the news???

The snow this time was the thickest Ive ever seen.
The National grid was running close to the max. We were starting to have brown outs.

Also end of the month we may get another big snow apperantly? More Snow woo

So this year been a interesting one.
Ive lost about 4 or 5 weeks of my course from atlease 2 or 3 major earthquakes and 2 big snow storms
