Re: Bringing the SVXtasy back to life
The drastic alteration of the intake tract will completely eliminate the effect of the valve and associated intake components, which are specifically designed for a normally aspirated system. As you have decided, you a better off without it. The turbo will provide positive pressure over the range previously assisted by the valve and eliminates all the factors involved in the original set up. What is more, the valve normally depends on manifold pressure for the actual movement of the valve and this will be completely altered by the turbo.

Re: Bringing the SVXtasy back to life
agreed. My manifold just came off. a few minutes ago. I know see a million things I should really replace while i am in here. Knowing myself so well, I had my wife call and take the car off of insurance.

Best of luck for a fast recovery - taking the SVX off of your insurance seems a little pessimistic! The picture I snapped of the mess under the intake manifold really does tell the same tale, though. I ended up replacing every vacuum line and I also redid the PCV setup at the same time, though I'll probably end up re-doing it again. Oh, the things we do for the cars we love. LOL. BTW some Simple Green on a shop rag works miracles with the ick that lives on top of the engine block! Jeff |

I've taken the bumper off, going to see if I can find a way to get a decent sized inter cooler in there. I get heat soak as it stands. What size is on your car?
