Movie: New in Town" (2009)
I just finished watching "New in Town" with Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick , Jr.
It was supposed to be set in New Ulm, Minnesota, but the actual filming locations were Selkirk and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada during winter. While the movie was somewhat amusing, the scenery was great. In the Bonus Features section, there is a great piece about filming this movie in Manitoba (mostly outside). 14-16 hour days at 50-60 degrees below zero and all of the problems and complications that they encountered. Renee in miniskirt, pantyhose and high heels in this actual environment made her a real trooper. Earthworm: Now I can see why coming to Reading for you was like going to the Bahamas for the rest of us! Lots of fun driving south in your "Winnipego" eh?  .

I was expecting you to say you spotted an SVX in the movie.
So...still working on your spelling of Winnipeg, huh? The temperatures you mention include windchill. Ignoring windchill the temperatures can get down to -40. Conversely, in the summer the temperatures can get higher than 40°C/104°F.
