Wet Floor

Hey guys, i had a post up not too long ago about some water in my doors that caused the speakers to basically just waterlog out, And then i had the problem of my interior windows fogging up much more than they should be. I even used the rain x anti fog. Someone asked my if my floor was wet and told me a couple of possibilities that it could be, Well just today my driver side carpet is fairly soaked and i havent been driving much at all. My passenger and both rear sides are dry, Idk if a sunroof drain is plugged or if something is leaking from somewhere. If anyone has any ideas or has run into this problem plz let me know
Thanks : )

Re: Wet Floor

Is it possible that you're tracking in snow in your shoes, and then it melts in the warm interior? That happens to me a lot.

Re: Wet Floor

I had this happen and it was the sunroof drain behind the kicker panel pointing towards the peddles. Check that out once.

Re: Wet Floor

i have solid floor mats that i have covering the whole carpet, its possible but that prolly isnt the cause of that much water. Ummm thanx for the tip on the sunroof drain ill check that out, and as for smelling like antifreeze, it does have a slight smell when i have the heat one, My antifreeze is full and bright green and the overflow is fine also would that still occur if i had a problem

Re: Wet Floor

You could have a leak in the heater core. That will fog up the windshield. It wouldn't change the color of the antifreeze but it would lower the level eventually. I'd sniff the wet spot in the carpet to see if it smells like antifreeze. Hopefully it doesn't because changing the heater core is a royal pain in the butt.

Re: Wet Floor

Possibly just wetness from the preexisting condition with the water that knocked out the speakers. Any wetness inside the car could be the cause. If it is coolant I would imagine you could easily smell it.

Re: Wet Floor

More on the heater core, please. I'm starting to think that's my next issue.

Now that the headgasket issue is fixed and the entire engine resealed, I can smell coolant when the heater is on, and the windows do fog up more than they used to. I really should have dumped this car before I paid Tom to fix a bunch of stuff I thought was "everything" wrong with it.
