I vote for a "wrench toss" -- kind of like a shotput, but using a wrench. Now we just have to decide whether it will be a box-end, crescent or AIR WRENCH.

I think OT and YT are evenly matched on this one.

A fellow walks into a bar, notices a very large jar on the counter, and
sees that it's filled to the brim with $10 bills. He guesses there must
be more than ten thousand dollars in it. He approaches the bartender
and asks, 'What's with the money in the jar?'

'Well... you pay $10 and if you pass three tests, you get all the money
and the keys to a brand new Lexus.'

The man certainly isn't going to pass this up. And so he asks, 'What are
the three tests?'

'You must pay first... Those are the rules,' says the bartender.

So, after thinking it over a while, the man gives the bartender the $10
and the bartender drops it into the jar.

'Okay,' the bartender says, 'Here's what you need to do:
First - You have to drink a whole quart of tequila, in a minute or less,
and you can't make a face while doing it.

Second - There's a pit bull chained in the back with a bad tooth. You
have to remove that tooth with your bare hands.

Third - There's a 90-year old lady upstairs who's never had sex...You
have to take care of that problem!'

The man is stunned. 'I know I paid my $10, but I'm not an idiot!
I won't do it! You'd have to be nuts to drink a quart of tequila, and
then do all those other things...'

'Your call,' says the bartender... 'But, your money stays where it is.'

As time goes on, andthe man has a few more drinks, he finally says,
'Where's the damn tequila?'

He grabs the bottle with both hands and drinks it as fast as he can.
Tears stream down both cheeks... but he doesn't make a face, and he did
it in fifty-eight seconds!

Next, he staggers out the back door, where he sees the pit bull chained
to a pole.
Soon the people inside the bar hear growling, biting, and screaming
sounds... then nothing but silence!

Just when they think that the man surely must be dead he staggers back
into the bar, with his shirt ripped open and there are scratches and
he's bleeding all over his body.

He says, 'Now where's that old woman with the bad tooth?'*

The moral to the story:Listen carefully to the directions, and don't
trust your judgment when alcohol is involved!/*

Asti spumanti is Italy's second most produced wine, with "clones" produced in California and other locations. It is a sweet-to-semi-sweet dessert wine. Asti is a "DOCG" wine, meaning it is regulated as to what grapes can be used in it, and what areas can create an Asti Spumanti. The DOCG rating system for Asti was set up in 1993. The Asti DOCG rating requires:

Martini & Rossi, the leading producer of asti spumanti, cranks out 21 million bottles annually of this fine alcohol. It was first named "Moscato Champagne", but by the time it came over to the US (1930s) they changed the name.
Asti spumanti is made from Muscat Canelli grapes. Asti is the town that actually supplies the grapes, while "Spuma" means "foam". Asti Spumanti is a light yellow color, and is sweeter than typical French Champagne. It should be served in a tall, thin glass to preserve its bubbles.


Asti spumanti goes very well with sweet desserts - a dish of strawberries, a sweet peach pie. It is the perfect summertime drink - light and sweet! Asti spumanti should be served at 41F, which is almost out-of-the-fridge temperature.

Asti Spumanti is a drink now wine. It is not meant for aging. It will not go "bad" if it's old, it just will not taste as good."

If you notice, all those years Tom has referred to drinking "ASTI", he has in fact been drinking only SPUMANTE (with J. Roget being his favorite)

So we condense it from SPOO-mante to just SPOO (because SPUM just doesn't sound right)

Look closely at the label. It says "American Sparkling Wine" and "Spumante"....The term "Asti" is nowhere to be found.

Spumante is a kind of Italian sweet sparkling wine, made with the white muscat grape. The most famous and best of the Italian spumantes was called "Asti Spumante."

Asti or Asti Spumante is a DOCG white sparkling wine produced in the premier Asti district in Piedmont, Italy. The best of these wines are produced here.

The name today for these high-quality Italian wines has been shortened to simply "Asti" in order to avoid confusion and associations with the many similar wines of dubious and lesser quality which are labeled as simply "Spumante."

I currently know of no Italian Asti Spumantes; they are now referred to simply as Asti.

The American (California and New York) wines like this are simply Spumantes; so you will never see an American Asti Spumante, just Spumante.



But it will always be more pleasing to the ear to hear Tom say "I need more ASTI", than to hear him say "Gimme more SPOO!"


But it's twice as nice when it's half the price!!
