Re: Stebro sound clip?

I am in the same boat as Nomad is

How long does Stebro usually take to finally deliver their products?

Re: Stebro sound clip?

For my it took about 4 or 5 mouths to finally get my hands on it. And that was after calling and calling every day to see if they shipped it or even to get an tracking number

It will definitely be delivered, but when is the question. They have been in business quite a few years and I have never heard of anyone NOT getting their product.

Re: Stebro sound clip?

An update and a warning for everyone. After threating Dan with the American Government I recieved a tracking number from him. Fast forward to today where I recieved my parts only to find that the front pipes have no precats, no resonators, no mounting brackets, and no O2 sensor bungs

Not only that but the driver's side pipe is bent incorrectly. Tommorw I am going to try the cut and modify the pipes so that the O2 sensors will fit and so that the bend is facing the right way.

My warning is that everyone should stay away from this product unless they are willing to do some modifications.

Hopefully Nomad's parts are correct but for me, it looks like another weekend on my back...

Tony

P.S: Does anyone know what size hole I need to tap for the O2 sensors?

You buy them and weld them in or take them to your local muffler shop and they will do it.

Cool, thanks for the info! The pipes will be at the muffler shop on monday.

I have read on the network before that having no precats could cause resonance issues, what does this sound like?

Nomad,

Have you had any contact from Dan? If not I would go here and file a complaint:
http://www.bbb.org/canada/

When I was waiting for my pipes, as soon as I threatened him with the bbb (Better Business Bureau) I recieved a tracking number from him...just a thought.

After a little over a month with the front pipes and the euro resonater installed I am noticing a hefty increase in power and an average mileage of 23mpg in mixed driving (other drivetrain mods include:exhaust resonator delete, Cold air intake, ECutune Stage 1av1 on the "hot" map, and ECUtune trans control unit).

The problem that I am having now is trying to get the pipes sealed. I had to install special order gaskets from NAPA to mount the pipes to the manifolds, which thankfully sealed. The back of the pipes is another story. For the past month I have been going back and forth to the parts store to get different sets of donuts for the resonator. Finally I decided to wedge the most recent set in the space and seal the edges with muffler putty...we'll see how that holds...

Keep us posted Nomad!

(PS to anyone who purchases these parts: I can provide tips from my experince of installing them...even though I have only done it once for the set on my car.)

Re: Stebro sound clip?

Hello gang,
I finaly got an installation date... Yes, they will fabricate the front pipes with my car on the lift. Going 4h drive to get there on the 17th sept.
Maybe it's good news and after 2 years i'll be able to post a sound clip !!!!! After that it's all body work ( thanks to somebody on this network for the 2 doors, fenders and quarter panels !!! )

10 days....10 DAYS......

Yay!!!

Glad to here you got a good response from Dan. Its great that they are willing to install the parts for you right there. That way you don't have to mess with the fitment issues I had.

Re: Stebro sound clip?

Okkkaayyyy ! I've been to Stebro ( 4 hours drive ) in Ottawa. I've met Dan there witch is the owner. He fabricated my front pipes and installed them in about 3 hours. He installed my center Cat too. He is very polite and seams very comited and professional.

Now for the sound part, the 500 rpm to 2500 rpm seams a lot more agressive and so deep it reminds me of a 5.0lt Mustang ( witch i've owned for a couple of years ). when you pass the 4000 mark, it's ridiculously awsome. I only have a cell phone for the sound clip but it will be bettter than nothing and i'll try to take some moving video so the sound is at it's best.

I'm very happy after all this wait and i can say that Stebro is a pretty good company. His product is lifetime warranty too. So now, i've received my strongflex bushings, tomorow they'll be installed, after that it's body time !
