Transmission Fluid FIlter

Would a 95 SVX have the external tranny filter installed from the
factory? or just the internal screen filter?

Should have both. They started installing them half way through 92.

Where would the filter be located? I had the tranny flushed and filled,
but they said there was no filter except the screen.

The external filter was part of a recall that only covered '92s. NO external filters were never installed at the factory, they were part of a dealer installed retro-fit. Some dealers may have installed the kit on later models, but they probably had to duke it out with the Regional Parts & Labor Manager afterwards.

They were mounted on the left frame rail, under the battery.

when you jack up the car you will see the filter clamped on and the small hoses that go into the bottom of the raderator.http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/imag...es/biggrin.gif
