TPS Problems?

I am noticing on my SVX that when I start the car the revs bouce up and down from about 1500 rpm to 500rpm and level out at about 500 rpms but then after driving around town for ten mins when I put it in park my revs consistantly stay at 1500 rpms.. Is this a bad TPS, if not what else could cause this? I am not getting any CE light...
Thanks guys

I wish I could help more, but I think I may have had a bad TPS on my old SVX. The tell tale sign was major hesitation from a stop to acceleration. Could be a TPS problem.

Your problem sounds more like the idle air control valve (IAC) or the Aux Air control valve. The aux air control valve is open when you start the car cold. It provides extra air for the high (1500 rpm) cold idle. As the car warms up, the valve closes and brings the idle down to 610 rpm. The IAC is then active and holds the idle steady at 610 rpm. The computer drives the IAC to maintain that idle speed. I'd start by cleaning these items. If you look in my locker, I have a procedure there with photos.
Good luck.
