What controls the auto drivers window?

My power windows work fine but the auto down feature does not. My ex has auto up and down by just hitting the button once. The switch in the SVX says auto on it but it only works if you hold the button. Is this controlled by the switch or on the motor?

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX Classic SVX
The problem is in the switch itself. There is a plastic tab that is broken or worn that won't let the auto function properly.

In the 92 SVX, the windows had the auto UP and auto DOWN feature. If you pushed or pulled on the switch button completely, you could feel it catch. On the later years, for safety reasons, the switch was modified so that only auto DOWN was available.

It is very easy to replace the switch. Check out posts for speaker replacement to show you how to remove the door panel and unplug the switch. There are posts about this switch and photos as well if you search.

I just fixed my window switch. I got one from Freakcustoms while he parts his SVX out, and the procedure is very simple. Many of my buttons had gotten loose, and one had even come off, and I couldnt put the passenger side window up, only down. So I unscrewed the top button portion (the black switches themselves) off of the electronic controller portion (the white plastic block), and then combined it with my good electronic controller, to make one functioning unit. Removing the door panel is very easy, only 6 screws that need to be removed. The whole process took me about 45 minutes.

Hey,

Thanks guys. Mine is a 92 also. It doesn't really matter but I was wondering how to go about it. It hasn't worked since I got it. I wonder if that would be covered under my used car warranty. Only prolem is I have a 100.00 deductible but it would get me out of having to do it.
