Question What year is the tranny

In my 92 tranny has been replaced but I don't know with what year. Could you determine the year of production based on the number. Tranny number is 540378.

I need solenoid C for my AWD to work but there is a different part number for 92-93 and 94-97.

Thanks

We couldn't get anybody to run it with the production number or the other number on it.

There is only one more number on the top of the diff case, but this number is exactly the same as on the Information plate, and that leads me to belive that only the tranny was replaced not the front differ. So this is the only number that I have.

Thanks

Are you sure it was replaced or just rebuilt?

Was that something the previous owner had done?

OK, yesterday I checked with 2 Subaru dealers in Calgary the service records for my SVX and what it turned out that a tranny was replaced in 1998 at 180K km, somebody paid CDN 3500 for it. I have the external filter, so the chances are the tranny is a factory rebuilt and dealer install , good knows which year.

The 4EAT from mine was supposed to be a '94. Don't recall the exact number but it started with a 7.
