Front suspension bushing replacement
I'm on a conquest to reduce/eliminate front end clunking. After seeing how the front sway bar bushings were totally swelled up and destroyed from the oil leaks up front, I'd like to replace other suspension bushings up front. So far, I've found:
- (4) 20136PA000 Stabilizer Bush I can't seem to get a p/n of the bushings that are inside the front control arms. Shouldn't these be replaced as well? I'm also wondering if I should replace the rubber stabilizers on top and bottom of the strut springs. (2) 20325PA000 Rubber Stabilizer Up (2) 20325PA100 Rubber Stabilizer Lw Thanks for any help. Earthworm is doing a group buy on bushings. Check that thread.
If you are trying to get rid of the klunk. Good luck. the SVX is known for it. Subaru even re designed the struts to help solve it ( to the detriment of handling in my opinion). They replaced them in the 92's under warranty for those who wanted them changed. |

I was never able to find a source for the Control Arm bushings, Subaru call them "Non-Servicable" and only sells the whole CA, complete with bushings.
I replaced mine with good control arms off of a parts car.

Good info, thanks. I'll check out the Group buy on bushings.
It's really cold today and I'm noticing more clunking from the front I'll check my BJ too just in case. Ali
