In order to remove the wiper arm, do you simply pry off the round cap at the end of the arm for nut access? Or does the entire cover toward that end of the wiper arm lift up?

Your winter wiper switch will not appear until it is winter season
I think you'll have to wait until december 21st until you'll be able to find it |

Also your wipers should be in winter mode prior to removal.
