A different type of geek...

So I'm trying to get around Sprint's lame services to download pictures off my phone. I found this site (www.howardforums.com) that seemed to cater to cell phone junkies. It's weird. Their registration for includes four blanks for 'current' phones. Many people list 'backups.' I can't imagine talking so damned much about cell phones.

Anyway, I noticed the number of members - it was well over 100,000. Number of posts was over 3.5 million. So you know I had to look at their top posters.

Their top guy, who registered on the site in 2001, has made over 64,000 posts.

Yikes.

i was on HoFo a lot, but found a Yahoo site dedicated to my specific brand of phone. its annoying, but less B.S. to wade through.

get a data cable and whatever software works with your brand of phone to download/upload pics, ringers, and video.

I did. Maybe. I bought a data cable and software for an earlier version of my phone. It sorta works, but seems to have communication problems with my phone.

I may just have to wait until Audiovox actually supports the stupid thing...you'd think they'd release accessories at the same time as the phone...

I'm really only interested in getting pictures off my phone through a data cable. Beyond that I have little interest in spending loads of time talking about cell phones. I don't understand the fascination.

You know that the guy with a billion posts there has to have the smallest most tricked out cell phone with the biggest color screen and polyphonic capable ring toned phone. Me on the other hand, has the free, base model, midi based ring toned phone from T-Mobile.

It's just a phone, not a glamour statement.

Oh, trust me, I completely agree. I only dropped a little more money on this cool phone because it should actually be useful for me.

But having multiple cell phones, being able to name every model number you've had, and identifying with them in such a way is something I don't get.
