New Sighting

Driving through the Moorebank/Hammondville area this morning (Sat) and spotted a Black/Charcol SVX at a set of lights.
Looked to have black on white custom NSW plates with just
SVX on them, (Expensive!!)
Anyone know of it?
Arthur.

WOW!

I noticed that "SVX" was taken when I checked the RTA's web site!

I am pleased that this number plate is on a Charcoal Grey SVX - (by far the BEST colour for an SVX!)

Arthur - I thought that you would have chased it and persuaded (forced) the owner to join the forum!!!

I missed out on those plates by a week!!! They had been in the RTA for months and was prior to me buying the SVX - when I found mine, I logged on and the plates were gone!! One miserable week!!!!

At least it on an SVX and not some lowlife trying to make money out of 1234 for $300,000 in the back of Drive

MRS 17J AgaIN not in mine

Saw MRS 17J again, this time in the mountains on Saturday near Leura. Three occupants in car, heading toward Sydney. All looking like they were stoked to be in an svx and having a good laugh

Unfortunately I was in a work car (white ford wagon) so even though I waved I don't think it meant much.

And Paulie- the green svx for sale is definitely not mine! Thanks for your concerned message.

Who is coming for the drive this weekend?

Do you still need a pair of sun visors that don't droop?

I will bring my old ones - just in case you do!

Have you heard from Matt yet? I hope he can make it this weekend!

Old yella x 2 !!

Ok lads gather around
The Dee Why yellow is for sale on ..94 model with only 56Ks wow @$25K neg
[url]http://www.carsales.com.au/

time to call this guy "rocky", I'd say
NEXT
BUT Wait ....there's now a yellow in Brisvegas as well..that's right but it is $7K respray, my son chased the guy down when he spotted the car in our area, turns out he had the colour done professionally himself..which yellow ....the new pearl yellow from the latest Mazda 6, with a black roof, quad pipes and American racing 17s mesh style, looks a treat..
..i'm looking to have a mini meet, with my red and green and his yellow and hey Ken you can join as well..we did meet up at the local Maccas car park the other day during the afternoon school hour and the kids [they know of my red one but s!.it a yellow one as well.... there stares and dribbling was a treat !!] I'll have my digital camera next time to get a shot, the yellow pearl looks great on the car..

I wonder whether the Dee Why yellow is original [James..needs to make quick flight home to secure an SVX purchase...!! ]

I'm a comin!!!

That black and yellow is very interesting for two reasons.

Firstly, about 4 years ago, a fellow I worked with insisted that he saw a yellow SVX with black roof in Westfields Parramatta (he knew the SVX's so could not be mistaken) - I told him that they were never released with a black roof in yellow but he swore blind that he saw it.

Then, at the meetup at Martin Frosh's place last year, the fellow who came along to see Martin's car and possibly buy it said that he had seen yellow SVX with black roof go through an auction place in Sydney a few weeks previously - I rang around but was unable to find out where.

Looks like it was Rocky's car!

If the Brisvegas was a respray, then there is at least one other yellow one floating around...assuming Rocky's is not a respray, then there were 3 yellow SVX's brought in, not 2 as Subaru Penrith said when they had a yellow SVX for sale a few years back ($45,000 and about 40,000km - was in excellent condition and was trucked to the new owners in Victoria - apparently was crashed and written off later on - it has 'City Club' script in gold on the flanks (about 1cm tall).

The other yellow belonged to Chris from Forster area (from the first meet at Martin's place in St Ives the year before last) and he bought his from Melbourne (a different car to the Penrith one).

The only way to be sure is to see the paint code on Rocky's car....SOMEONE SO SEE THIS!!!!! *I am tearing my hair out, serious withdrawal symptoms here!!!*

Agggggggggggggggg

Dee Why Yellow

I spoke to Rocky he's owned the car for 6 mths only, he states it's original, I have the VIN JF1CXWUE0RG003517, the thing I was surprised about was that a 94 model that had dual bags..you can see them in his pics, based on the last 4 digits compared to my 2 3/95 builds Rocky's car is about 500 builds earlier, my 2 cars last 4 digits are less than 30 apart and are both in the early 4000's

He also said the stereo isn't the original panasonic, and the alarm was a new Viper, had not had it serviced as he'd had it a short time..to accurately know the original colour we'd need the colour code off the plate under the bonnet. gee if it is a gen yellow..wow

I called Rocky this morning - he appears to be busy today, but he told me that he will let me know when I can come around and have a look.

I will take some higher resolution photos of his SVX, and have a good look at it...........................

.................and I will get the paint code!!

I saw him (again!)

Rocky is not the most enthusiastic svxer I have met. When I was driving toward Dee Why yesterday (in mine thank goodness!) from curl curl I spotted him and tooted. I pulled up alongside him and had a quick chat at the lights. He was not that keen to talk and I stopped following him after pulling alongside at 2 more lights so I didn't ask him to come on the drive today.

His svx is the best I’ve ever seen! The paint is superb and no dents in the doors. The yellow turns heads from miles away. ......I'll try to talk Chris into changing from the feroza to an svx (this has not worked in the past).

Jason’s svx is actually evolving into the best svx around- A BIG THANKYOU Jason for installing your visor into my drooping visor today
Now I can see out the passenger side which is tops.

Moshol

Rocky's has the black roof though?? I have never seen an update (ie, twin airbagger, split fold rear) with the black roof/rear deck - the only exception was a bright red with black roof that was for sale here in the UK a few weeks ago.

In OZ, that would be the first I have ever seen like that - AFAIK, they were all body coloured (like Moshols, David and Harveys) and the only two yellow's I knew of were all one colour.

The plot thickens!!!

VIN JF1CXWUE0RG003517
Just had a look at my manuals trying to determine the true color of the YELLOW SVX via the VIN number (Yes, I now know that this is not where that info is!)
And noticed that the G in the VIN indicates a 5 speed, all wheel drive manual transmission!!?
As Rove says;
"What The??"
