question for 5 speeders

What clutches have most of you used? I used an ACT stage 1 pressure plate and an exedy(sp?) super S disc and found the pedal to be extremely stiff and the release points in pedal travel seem to vary (i.e. sometimes you only need to push the clutch 1/2 way to floor and other times all the way to the floor). I was also wondering if anyone has bypassed the pressure dampner in the hydraulic system that is located on the trans but before the slave cylinder?
Sorry if my post seems to wonder.
Thanks,
Chris

I may be able to answer that question once my 5spd is done. I'm just using the stock WRX clutch for now though.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what/where the pressure dampner is (which is why my dad is helping me with my conversion).

the pressure dampner controls the release speed for faster luanches....no i did not bypass it. Im not sure if all the models are going to have it.

i had an ACT extreme kit, but it smoked fast with the nitrous so now im using a RPS 403ft/lb max clutch

I'm using an ATC clutch and P.P. for a Turbo Legacy in my SVX. It dosn't slip at all right now and engagment is consistent but it dosn't like to be slipped ( very stinky). The older Turbo Legacys had the dampner mess that bolted to the tranny, the newer hydro clutches have the dampner as part of the clutch master. I have the newer style on mine, it makes for a much cleaner looking install. I'v heard that without it the pedal is really hard but I personally have no proof of this.
