Help, there was smoke today....

Today i turned my car on and there was alot of smoke coming from the dash then it went away. Later i was driving, and i noticed that the car was rough, it would purr even at idle. And when i went to park, i seen some smoke coming through the wheel well. I popped open the hood and seen that there was alot of smoke, could it be my dying tranny?

Since the level of the tranny fluid was low, i added some more.

Anyone have any ideas?

Did it smell like oil? The car will smoke when oil gets on the exhaust when it's hot so not right away when starting a cold engine. The dash board puff could have been electrical. Did it smell like burning plastic?
