windshield Wipper goes beyond window edge

The wipper swicht is on "Normal" or "summer" possition but it does not make any change in the final possition of the blades. Do I have to check voltage in any wire of the wiper relay? where is it? please help! I do not want to brake the mechanism using the car the way it is now.

Had the same problem. Just removed the nuts holding in the wipers when they were off, removed wiper arms, replaced them a little lower. Problem solved.

Do they sit in the same place in winter mode too? Are they too low or too high when they're off? And when they go up, so they go too far, too little, or the right amount?

Re: windshield Wipper goes beyond window edge

Actually, the obvious solution here isn't necessarily a 100% fix. I've adjusted my wipers repeatedly yet the driver's side still occasionally strikes the A-pillar. The upsweep stopping point can vary by several inches. I've got the blades resting hard on the stops, yet once had a blade assembly snap apart after sweeping past the edge of the glass.

Might need a replacement wiper motor mechanism...I've got one for sale if that's the case.

Re: windshield Wipper goes beyond window edge

I got a question about winter/summer mode.
I have never taken my wipers off of winter mode, why have them sit on the window if they don't have too?
Will I eventually break something If I leave them in winter mode?

You won't break anything. It is a feature so that when not needed, they sit lower for better aerodynamics and less drag. Then in winter mode, they sit on the windshield where the defroster can blast the windshield with hot air, and thus keeping the wipers from icing up.

Re: windshield Wipper goes beyond window edge

In winter mode they sit on the window? I thought winter mode was off the window so I don't hit them with the ice scraper.

Mine live in the off the window position all year, good to know it wont break nothing.

winter mode so you can lift them up so you don't hit them with the scraper, and I think they rest slightly on the windshield so the defroster helps prevent ice buildup... I could be wrong... I would like to forget about winter now that it's finally warming up here. We just had more snow last week
