Soviet... If I can get the time to do the shift linkage tonight, your kit will be ready by tomorrow... I have not heard from you in a while so I will send you a PM... Whoever is next in line, wait to hear from me if he doesn't get back to me

I have a 1996 svx lsi in phoenix, arizona.
Can anyone advise me of the total cost to do the conversion to a manual transmission and if there is a reputable shop anywhere near me that has done this conversion and can guarantee the work. I have to decide weather to rebuild my original automatic within the next couple of days at a cost of $3,500.00

Doug, if you really want a 5 or 6 speed you can fly TomsSvx out to your place to do it.
It's not his first rodeo.

If you wanted a 4.44 4eat automatic you could fly me out.

It would not be the first time for either of us.

I would like to thank Tom for the 6mt kit and the great job/effort he puts in into our community of SVX's, made the trip earlier today to Philly to pick it up and now, next on the list of things to do is the actual swap itself, can't wait...

Thanks for the kit!

Tom,
Should I interpret your latest posts as meaning that one doesn't need to get an STi master cylinder anymore, that the stock SVX piece will work?

I am getting in a whole new stock of parts this week and the next. Since most people have not sent me cores back... not X-members but the shift linkages. It is not a problem really, just kinda killed time for me... Also, I have finally found a shop not too far away that will do the driveshafts now so no more using outbacks shafts... I will include these in the kits from now on but beware, it will change the cost of the kits but kill one of the steps you used to have to take. It is only applicable to the 5mt kits and not the 6mt kits. I am waiting for them to finish the shaft that is going to go into my pearly so I will have final pricing on those after they give it back to me... So expect to here from me soon

Hey,
I will probably be coming down a week from this friday with the WRX transmission. You are always talking about how busy you are and stuff and I didn't know if you needed a hand with anything that day. I was planning on coming down pretty early in the day. Let me know.

I got the shaft from the shop today... WOW... they did a great job and I cannot wait to put it in the car. If it goes flawlessly, I will include them in the kits... granted it adds $200 to the cost of the kit, it is well worth it. I am also working on being able to replace the U-joints so we never have to buy new drivshafts again!! Stay tuned

Tom
