Lug Torque

Hey, since my computer bit the dust, I am not able to use my SVX CD service manual and the standard manual for the car is missing currently.
My car is on jacks right now and I am going to rotate the tires. So my question is simply what are the torque values to tighten the lugs? I saw 58-72 ft-lbs somewhere on this site and I also saw 72-86 ft-lbs. I guess the range meaning lower number for used parts, higher number for new parts.
I have a 95 svx and will be reusing the current lug nuts.

85-90 ft-lbs works...might want to take them to 45 first if you want to make sure you've got an even torque (star pattern)

ok, but I'm looking for the subaru spec

and 85-90 is within the Subaru spec...(I'd have to check my shop manuals, but I believe the spec is 75-100 ft-lbs)

Hi Matt, According to the Subaru Owners Manual for the 1992 SVX on page 10-5. Wheel nuts are torqued at 72-87 ft-lbs. Happy rotating and take care, BOBB

The correct torque, is that which enables you to remove and replace a wheel, using the OEM equipment and not an impact power operated device. Not usually available in the wop wops in the middle of a raining night.

Thanks everyone....I did open my manual up at home and Bobb is correct at 72-87 Ft-lbs.
I brought a torque wrench home and set it at 72, but stupid me, it was an IN-LB wrench (doh!!!) So Eric, I'd need at least 864 in-lbs....LOL

So I just cranked them down by hand until I can get the correct wrench.

I know they were over tightened...I had to get a breaker bar on the wrench to free them up....the stealership must have impact wrenched them from the last service I had.
