What should my svx idle at

What do most svx's idle at ? My svx when i start it up jumps to 1250 then drops and evens out to around 500 is this normal? Also I havent started the car in two months because i've been away in the military, I have already had a bunch of stuff replaced such as the timing belt,spark plugs, water pump, pulleys belts, all the gaskets in the motor and had the car switched to synthetic mobil1 10w30. So is this low idle a good or bad thing. My other car idles at 750rpm (lexus rx330) but thats a newer car and has way too many computer crap on it for me to understand. Please help

That sounds about right. Are you having any problems with it that low? If not, I would leave it alone. These engines usually idle so nicely that you sometimes don't even know they are running.

The manual says 600 +/- 100 RPM. How long does it take the engine to reach that RPM?

idling svx

It only takes about 15 seconds to get there. just finished installing radiator that i got off ebay from kinetiq systems- its steaming- wont be buying anything from him anymore

The radiator emits antifreeze vapors on the underside middle portion , where the metal is clamped onto the plastic. I let the car idle outside for an hour since it hadnt been started in two months and once the coolant warmed up steam came out of the radiator i dont think the seal is good on the plastic part of the radiator, no cracks just not a good seal prob any suggestions

I think I would carefully run the car around the block and see what happens. If you find a leak, I would let him know about it so he can make good on it.
