help my svx wont stay running

it shut off while i was driving. when i tried to start it it would idle barely then id give it gass and it would shut off. i had it towed home and changed the fuel filter now it doesnt even idle please help

What year is your car? Before it shut off, did you get a "Check Engine" light on the dash? When you turn on the ignition, do you get a flashing POWER light? Mileage?

We need some of these answers to start to make a diagnosis. (But I doubt it is the fuel filter) The parts between the years is usually the same, but the diagnosis procedure on the later cars is a little different.

There seems to have been a recent increase of our cars stalling while driving, or not starting at all. These include crank sensors, cam sensors or faulty MAF sensors. tell us everything you can.

its a 92 with 127,000. power light does flash but i have a tranny problem and its been that way since i got it. i just put an intake on it the check engine light didnt come on that i recall but my gas light did come on

Well if the gas light came on, let's start with the obvious, is there gas in it?

Damn wise-ass heli-pilots! My kids grandpa was an instructor...
Sorry to derail this poor dude's thread, but just on a side note, don't skimp on the gas...PREMIUM only! I wimped out last month when gas was higher, and got 02 sensor warnings for the first time. Went away after that tankful.
Coincidence? I think not. Carry on.....

yes i put 20 bucks in coasted to the gas station. thought i was lucky till it didnt start. and it was the cheap gas
