power steering pump
is there any difference between a power steering pump in a 92 ls-l and a 94 lsi?
if not, how difficult is removal and installation? I've got an amazing service manual that's 4 books long with detailed instruction |

Oh, and installation is pretty straight forward.

Between those trim levels, Randy's right, the pumps should be the same.
And it sounds to me like you have the factory serice manuals (FSMs), so installation should be cake.

Hmmm. After checking subaruparts.com, the diagrams are a bit confusing.
I'll report. You decide. This is the 92 http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mod...ategory=346-A1 This is the 94 http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mod...category=346-1 On the 94, it lists an entire pump assembly http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mod...category=348-1

Simplified, but, true. The sun roof indicates an LS-L designation which would require the pump for the electronic speed sensing rack. The "other" alternative on the "lesser" models is a pump geared to engine revolution and is not electronically controlled. Here are the part numbers for each: electronically controlled. http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mo...&category=347-B Part # 34110PA030 Engine rev controlled. 34110PA010

Yes, the pumps will be the same. They only made two types: one for vehicle speed sensitive (AKA electronic control), and one for RPM speed sensitive. As long as you install a pump from a car that has the same type of steering system that your does, you'll be fine. LSL and LSI models used the same pumps.
