AFT Temperature spikes
I just noticed this the past couple of days. The AFT temperture coming out of the transmssion has temperature spikes over 230F. I can be driving along as the tranny is warming up and everything looks fine at 150F and then it's over 230F and then it back to 150F. It will do this sveral times and it is not consistant. Sometimes it does it and other times it does not.
Another observation; It was over 230F and then I drove in reverse for about 100 feet and it came down from 200F to 170F where it should have been. The SVX tranny is shifting and working okay and the fluid looks okay. I will continue to hope it's the external filter clogging up. Has anybody seen this before?

Is the thermostat before or after the coolers?

I do not have an AFT thermostat installed at this time. I guess the temperature spikes would make more sense if I did?

I think he meant... temp gauge.... not thermostat.....
