has anyone rebuilt their calipers? If you have where did you get the rebuild kits?

Rebuild kits are available from the dealer, as well as aftermarket parts.

I attempted to rebuild mine, but after tearing into it, the pistons were pretty rusted and corroded, so it didn't solve the problem completely after I put in the new seals.

Just before the meet, I had them rebuilt by a local shop for $45CDN ($30USD) for each front caliper.

caliper pistons

thanks VK. When I put on the ART front rotors I could see the caliper pistons were in ugly condition just like you described.

I think the trick is to find a local rebuilder that's reasonable on $$$. I checked, and the online retailers wanted way more, even after core. If you're on good terms with a private mechanic, find out where they get their calipers rebuilt, and that'll probably save you some coin.

rebuilt calipers

can get front rebuilt calipers for $80 each, since Subaru pistons are $37 each, think I'll go with the rebuilt calipers. Anyone have experience with rebuilt calipers from Phil's Inc Automotive Warehouse? AKA: Ceramic Friction.

Yikes, with all the prices you guys are paying, I should start a little caliper rebuilding business...

I can probably buy used calipers and have them rebuilt for less than $80, and still have a core left over for the next rebuild.

It must be the 3rd world country wages we make here compared to the US...

My challenge is location. I'm 85 miles from Portland, OR. Most everything is there, I only go there 3 times a year if necessary. I really rely on the internet to shop for stuff & UPS comes by 5 days each week. The nearest parts store is 25 miles.
