Re: Pic of my new winter beater

I am not a fan of British cars, too much prone to failures, especially their electrical system. The old Range Rover 70's to 90's had electrical and fuel line problems.
The newer Range, 90's to 2001 had suspension/elevation probs...
The Jags also had the electical wiring nightmare... we used to own an old one back in the days. I was small, I remember once my dad stopping like crazy on the road side, a lot of smoke from under the hood, then fire, then extinguisher, then tow car, garage/repair, immediate SALE

They still have electrical glitches to date... (my ex company was the dealer of Rolls, Range and Jag in Qatar).

Ummm. Danny you did see what else I have in my Sig. At least the Jaguar wiring wasn't make by a woman named Margret on a plywood board like the TVR.

No Bill I spent 6k on it, much less then you spent loosing your manliness. I spent $9k on my SVX 11 years ago!

Car was somewhat local. Got it from Fred Beans Caddie in Doylestown where they had it listed on their lot for $11k. MMR on the car is $200 less then what I paid.

Don't forget this is essentially a Ford product now. Sure lots of British design, but Ford engineering and quality. Do a bit of research on quality BEFORE Ford took over.

I think it is unfair to even say it is a Ford product as the parts content is listing 55% GB, 30% US and rest other. Aside from the actual drivetrain I can't find a single Ford part on the thing and I'm anal as anyone regarding the GM style build an upscale car then put the same old turn signal stock from 20 years ago into it even though it doesn't come close to belonging

Ford did do a lot regarding the quality control and modernizing of Jag though... Then sold it off for a loss.

Driving in the snow its a whole lot more than Subarus 90-10 or 50-50 set up. Easier to get the rear end to play as it is 65 rear bias. Because of it there isn't that subaru like confidence (or maybe it will just take more than a couple miles of driving). Definately fun to be able to drive it straight nearly sideways for a couple hundred feet though
