Road Trip Vegas to Pittsburgh, Pa

I'm going to the SEMA show in Vegas and then I'm going to drive to kingman, Az and pick up I-40 and head east. Anything along the way you guys could suggest? Hot Rod shops, anything airplane, or any other kind of sightseeing ? I'm not on any schedule, so I can go/stop anywhere.

You could not go wrong exploring the Valley of Fire state park off of exit 75 up I-15 north of Vegas. Take the small 2 lane road above the visitor center that slices into the middle of the rock forest and you will be amazed at the formations that this tiny road and bathrooms are nestled between. You can also buy and light off the good fireworks at the indian casino/store right there at the exit they have a very large selection spread out over the size of a Rite-aid, and every firework you can think of is there. The launch pad is out back.

What color is your SVX? My best friend (and former SVX owner) lives in Mars and is always talking about SVXs he sees. I used to live in the area, too. I worked at Kerven Subaru in Butler.

corvette museum in Bowling green KY and the factory is across the street and if you sneak around a little you can see things you shouldn't see in the factory (from the outside)

Hoover Damn is nice, and worth the visit.
Meteor Crater and of course the
Grand Canyon is beautiful in the Fall
right now. They have the Skywalk on the South
Rim, pretty cool.
The Petrified Forest east of Flagstaff is very
scenic too.

Im going to SEMA from the 2nd to the 5th
this yr.

Re: Road Trip Vegas to Pittsburgh, Pa

My SVX is Silver/Black top, and has aftermarket Konig wheels. I bought it in 93 with 16,000 mi and still is my favorite car. Our daughter had it for a few years while in college, but I re-inherited it last year. Right now, cracked windshield, but I got a parts car with no engine/ecu, and bad transaxle, but good windshield. I plan to swap them out after I get back from Vegas. I bought a 72 Ford Ranchero (no rust!!!) in Vegas and will be driving back to Pa. from Vegas after going to the SEMA show. I really like driving the SVX better than anything I've owned, but it is getting up in years, and I wish there was something late model out there that I'd love as much, but I'm going to keep enjoying this one until I find whatever car it is that could fill its shoes

Re: Road Trip Vegas to Pittsburgh, Pa

It looks like the most direct route would be I-40 east to Oklahoma City, then I-44 northeast to St. Louis, then I-70 to Pa. Anybody got suggestions?

That's roughly the route I took east. On a side note it parallels Route 66 if your interested in checking out some automotive history try to find a map of it and ride the "mother road".
