Caravan rear evaporator Coil

My 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan has a leak in the rear evaporator. This is a common problem on these vans. There is a nation wide back order for the parts ($450). They say the problem is due to corrosion. The bottom half of the coil is exposed behind the rear tire. It will reoccur again. Is there anything that I can use or make to protect this part? Remember it is aluminum and has a drip hole.

Re: Caravan rear evaporator Coil

I can't help with your problem but I will say now it makes a lot of sense...I was in the rear seat of a GC last night and I heard this gurgling and now it all makes sense to me. I better tell my buddy to check his and make sure it is clean.
