Re: Man trades Maserati for cash for clunkers

Maybe Dilbert DumbButt should get the name right for the news cast though.
It's not called a BEETURBO, but he sure is a Retread for calling it that.

It's a sad thing to see some of them go.

Re: Man trades Maserati for cash for clunkers

Dealership guy tried to start the car. Car did not start. How does disposal guy run the engine at 2000RPM until it dies if it doesn't start? FAIL.

Re: Man trades Maserati for cash for clunkers

I've known of people that had them (Maserati Biturbo) and I've been in many of them over the years, but they were junk when they came off the boat brand new. They were really great places to sit and wait for a tow truck though.

I suppose it was the novelty that drew people to them mostly. I never got to drive one, but always thought they were neat cars.

From what I have been told by the guy that got a letter from obama, they pour sand into the engine and trans and rev her till she 'BLOWS', then the carcas can be 'had' for $250. bucks!

When a 91 Crown Vic did NOT qualify, WHY was a GEO Tracker featured in our local paper as a 'clunker'??? My daughter has a Suzuki that gets 35 MPG and looks just like the car in the dumpster!!

It is just another example of 'BIG BROTHER' controling us!! WE are too DUMB to do what is 'best' for us!! We should all let big guv-ment DECIDE for us! Then we don't have to feel guilty for saving old cars!! There won't be anything left to save.

'Your' president has just DAMAGED the 'sport' of Street Rodding by KILLING 400,000 PLUS drivetrains that might have allowed an old car to SURVIVE!!

I say 'YOUR' president, because I feel that this person is NOT what the other people voted for and he has given me NO hope that our way of life will survive with his SOCILAIST views!!!

I used his own words in a meeting with our local powers recently.

I told them that the 'Sport' of Street Rodding has taken a bad 'hit' at the hands of the federal guv-ment, now YOU are taking shots at the cars that I chose to protect at my 'Restoratiojn' shop... A week later, I was offered an 'out', I can call my shop a 'Storage' facility. If I pay the money and ask them to call the place a 'Storage' facility, they will leave me alone.

I have spent the money to 'call' my place a 'Restoration shop', I have spent the money to 'call' my place a 'Used car lot', I have spent the money to call my shop a salvage yard. Now, I get to spend more money to call my shop a 'storage facility'..

Now, what I need to KNOW, is WHY I need 4 'occupancy permits' to do what I have been DOING for 14 YEARS!! ( saving old cars from the CRUSHER)

ANY of the 'PERMITS' that have been 'ISSUED' SHOULD cover old cars parked there. They have come up with MORE ways to pick my pocket!!
Just like BIG BROTHER!! KILL all the 'old' cars so we will buy a NEW one!!... I have NEVER had a 'new' car! I have no desire to own a 'new' car!! I just want to be ALLOWED to play with my old ones and have parts available to keep them alive!

GRRRR!!! (RANT)

Your little slow SVX got its ass handed to it by one. The later ones were actually quite reliable (so far as an Italian Exotic can be when you have those pesky dumb Americans doing the maint. on 'em). The one that I drove was anything but a POS. Granted it is owned by someone who has a net worth in the hundreds of millions so it does get its regular tune ups.

Jeremy Clarkson bought a Bi-Turbo....then dropped a garbage skip onto it from 2 stories above.
