Considering these Enkei Rims

They are Enkei 17" 5 bolt universal with a +55 offset (according to the seller) so they sound perfect. They have a 215/45/R17 tires on them, does that mean they are more narrow than the stock SVX tires?

Yes and no Sean. It depends which SVX year you mean.

All early SVX cars were fitted with 225 profile tyres. The 96-97 cars came as standard with 215 profiles.

If you are thinking of buying these with tyres fitted, and the tyres are good, I would say go for it. The SVX is AWD and has masses of grip. The 215 tyres will probably make your car go a little faster, because they have less drag.

It's likely though they will have a smaller rolling diameter than what you currently have on. This will make your car accelerate faster, and your clock read fast.
[too high, higher than correct actual speed shown on the speedo]

If the tyres are good and the deal is good, I would go for it, big time.

Joe

only the 97 had 215s, and they were 215/55/16 so the overall diameter was almost the same. As long as the wheel is at a minumum 7 inch wide you can just slap some 225/45/17s on it. I have 17x7s on mine with that size tire.

Re: Considering these Enkei Rims

By the numbers, the speedometer and actual speed will vary by 1 mph. I figure that's close enough.

Re: Considering these Enkei Rims

Probably not buying them now unless I can buy the rims without the tires. I just heard back from the seller, the tires have more wear on the fronts than the back, so I would not be comfortable using them. Thanks for all the feedback.
