Thumbs up Replacing weak trunk struts How-to with pics

I just completed a How-to word document with pics detailng the installation of Strong Arm gas charged struts in place of weak, worn out stockers. The file is 6megs and too large for me to attach. I emailed it to Earl and if he agrees that it has merit, look for it to be posted in the How To documents section.

I will get it into a pdf form so it will not be as big and get it into the How-To Docs. Looks good.

Re: Replacing weak trunk struts How-to with pics

was this how to ever made?

I measured the strut quickly:

14" open
10.25" closed.

This is measuring from the pivot points on the brackets

I was wondering how much pressure the new strut should have.
We use 90lbs for the hood and everyone seems to like that.

Re: Replacing weak trunk struts How-to with pics

The how-to has been done for a while, just not PDF'd. I'll find a place to host it and post a link tonight.

80 lb struts are recommended

Re: Replacing weak trunk struts How-to with pics

According to LetItSnow's writeup, which I utilized for the hood struts on my Claret, the recommended hood strut is 90lb and trunk is 80lb. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Replacing weak trunk struts How-to with pics

I'm a little confused, isn't this the document that you are looking for; right in the How-to-Documents section already??

That's for the hood, they're talking about the trunk.
