Charcoal Canister Lower Hose

I just finished changing the spark plugs and noticed a hose from what appears to be the bottom of the charcoal cannister hanging loose. Where does this go?

On my UK svx,I have a pipe which plugs into a hole in the engine bay/inner wheel arch,it is opposite the coil packs/spark plugs/I presume it is a vent/breather,mine sometimes pops out,it is easily pushed back in.

The hole is not easy to locate and it may help if you take into account that the tube there as a means of venting the canister to outside of the engine bay.

On the USA model the bottom canister hose vents into the fender wheel and in this fender well is the air intake for the engine.

I think that if you live in a hot climate, the evaporative emission system can not be handled by the "normal" system. So the overflow or extra vapors goes into the engine air intake and burn in the engine.

It helps to keep our planet green.
