Check Engine Light
Got a 1996 SVX LSI.
The Check Engine light is on. I removed the driver side kick panel and located the 2 blue wires and the small black connector per the instructions in the how-to area and then installed 1 of the wires into the #2 pin from the left side of the black connector with the notch side up. I followed the rest of the instructions and nothing happened. I noticed that there are no wires connected to the #2 pin location of the small black connector. Does the 1996 have an alternate method of checking the error codes?

96 is an obd II car, you would have to have an odb II scanner, or you can go to autozone and they will scan your codes for free. the wires and connector doesnt work the same in 96 & 97 year cars. Sorry

Right you are Jerad. You can not check them like the others. I guess we should have something there that explains that so it does not confuse members.

Thank's, thats what I figured. There is a computer link panel on the right side of the steering wheel, is this where they will hook up their scanner?

Yes, it is where the coin holder is on the other years. You open the little door and plug in the sensor. You can read them and then reset the system. Good luck.
