are you trying to rig it into the SVX system? I know that there is MILES and miles of harness, and hundreds of individual conections to sort on a full Corvette system, as well as the Camaro. or are you planing on just running a stand alone with the motor?

If I were doing it, I'd get a prewired kit for the LS1, and then it's plug and play, just 3 wires to hook up the fuse box (I believe)...and one to the fuel pump.

to make the wiring more simplistic id buy a bunch of universal autometer gauges for the main cluster. Thats what one of the guys with a 300zx/ls1 swap did.

Then you would have spent all the money, Still wouldn't be as fast, and have large bills to pay when something breaks.. which it will.

Sounds like a horrible idea

probably faster - 172mph. i spent $80 on repairs in 5 years on the '87 928 (mods and preventative maintenance was purely optional on my part). i spent WAY more in 3 years on the '97 SVX in repairs.

sounds like a great idea.

I dont care if the 928 has a "top" speed of 172 MPH. an Ls1 with 300whp/tq (not rated thats at the wheels) in a car around 3300lbs after the swap will rape a 928. 100% Stock ls1 cars (vettes and f-bodies) have seen 12's. unlimited they can reach 175 without a problem. im sorry as far as all out speed....928 is not faster.

well while you cook up an LS1 swap I will be blowing doors off other cars... I think that is the point being made. It is not economically efficient and it is not time efficient, what the hell is it except the right to say, I have an LS1 SVX which means nothing to a fanatic anyway... point being, an LS1 isn't worth the hassle for an SVX, work with the biggest production motor Subaru has and make it happen.

chill out, n00b - i wasn't comparing a 928 to a Vette or F-body. the comparison was to a V8-swapped SVX, which would also need several thousand dollars worth of braking and suspension mods to go with that V8 swap, because the SVX suspension and braking is barely adequate for 230hp, let alone 300+.

regardless, i was just being a goofball.

we drive $4000'ish cars.. nobody here is just going to drop $10k into a never-done-before project like that. Harder swaps have been performed.
