Dave,
Which SCCA class will you an Ben be competing in this year? Street Mod or are you still going to be in EP?

Would something like this work to help achieve our 55mm offset for rims?
If it does then that would open up a lot of options. Steve

What exactly are you holding and where exactly did you get it. I know that it is a spacer but what kind exactly? I have been thinking about getting some spacers for a mustang and putting them on my SVX cuz they both have the same bolt pattern. I'm just not sure how to figure out what wheels will fit then. How are you going to fit 275's in the wheel well and what wheel are you mounting them on?

Dave,
This looks a bit like what we used to do with VW Beetles years back (yeah, I'm old ). Only we used backward lug nuts on the "inside" of the wheel to push out the wheel the width of the nut. No solid spacer needed .... Harry

Chike,
We're in EP this year... The spacer is a 1" spacer from Sardeson Racing, they do have different thicknesses available. To use one that thick, we had to find longer studs. The studs we found came from England. The 275's are going onto our stock wheels, and in order to make them fit, we had to trim about 2" away from the fender. Eventually we hope to make up some wide fiberglass fenders.

That car will certainly corner much better with the wider stance!! Let us know how it works and if you think it puts too much additional stress on the wheel bearings.
Hope to see you and Ben at Reading! Harry

Explain what you mean by "softer spring rates"

oh, makes sense. Does this mean that I should go higher than I was planning (250lb front 225lb rear) if I were to get these and also how would that work with my current wheels (18x7.5 +48 offset with 225/40/18's)?

We finally ran with the 275's mounted. They really fill up the wheel well and make the car stick to the track so much better. Still a little bit of spin on take off and it could still be pushed hard and slide on tight turns.
I can't wait till the 12"ers get fitted and I know two of the wheels are on backwards...
