Post Wrecked B9 Tribeca!

First wrecked one I've seen:

http://ridesafely.com/inventory.asp?...ryID=512013235

Seems to have taken a good hit, but the passenger compartment is still in good shape. Has just a tad under 500 miles on the odometer, but at least the pignose is gone!

Food for thought

Since this is a 3 Litre boxer, has anyone considered it for any kinds of replacement information? Happens to have 250 horses, out of the box.

As far as the layout of the vehicle goes, it is very similar.

I don't have any spec. info, but it would be nice to have an engine and Tranny with less than 10K on them in a 15 year old car, no?
Of course, there will be control changes, but these can probably be worked with.

That'll be a huge wiring job if you installed the engine and 5EAT from a Tribeca into an SVX. Plus torque in the 3.0L boxer 6 is less than in our 3.3.

With all this being said, I'd still see it as an 'upgrade' but I'm not sure if the expense will be worth just a 20hp gain...

Kinda what I was expecting, but I was looking at it from the miles, and wear and tear side more than else.

Thanks for the input.

Plus it has less torque than the SVX if I remember correcty. I think its 212 vs 230 for the SVX.

I agree with Alan though, it looks better up front now.

It might not have been wrecked. Maybe it just had a dealer option front end change.

Some of you may or may not believe me, but used car dealers over here import such damaged vehicules from the states or europe, bring them over to bodyshops, fix them up and sell them for customers. This damaged tribeca costs no more than 2 or 3 grand there, import it and pay customs around 15 grand and fix it + parts for 4 grand. total = 22 grand, they sell it for 30 grand...

I've seen 4 go through the salvage auctions already.....one with about 300 miles on it.

I'd love to have the motor out of one....yeah it has a little less torque, but it is WAY lighter than the EG33.....but even a REALLY bad wreck is going for big money....

At least the owner doesnt have to look at the front of it anymore ... Ugh. Subaru needs to stick with cars and quit wasting money in the SUV market.
