Wouldn't start
Normally my SVX starts after 3 sec. well yesterday I turned the key it almost fired but I let go of the key and it died. This happened once before. Now the car acted flooded. I turned the key and it faulters sounds like it is starting but never fires up. Finally ran the battery dead. I shut it down opened the trunk got out the jumper battery connected it turned the key after 10 sec. of turning it shook and fired up like nothing happened but white smoke poured out the back. Fine all day today back to normal what up with that? BTW thanks starting the car with the CC off makes it run smooooooth .

My car went through a spell of hard starting whenever the ambient temperature was around freezing and the engine cold. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and haven't had a problem since.
When the car acts "flooded" you should be able to start it by holding the accelerator to the floor 'til it fires, which shouldn't take long. dcb |

A lot of the time it's the coolant temperature sensor. When I had this problem the car would only start if I didn't touch the gas and when it did start there was no high idle.
