Got my SVX back again

So this time there was very little body work needed. Overall she looks virtually new. If you REALLY look closely you can see where the various white pearls are slightly different colors but it is really a minor issue. I expect unless I pointed it out no one whould notice. There is a new issue though. The check engine light comes on and stays on for the first 5 minutes you drive the car. I need to get someone to check the diagnostic codes to see what is going on.

So I bought a variant of the club this time that clamps the break pedal and I'm crossing my fingers that this will stop me from experiencing yet another sickening morning of staring at the open parking spot that held my are the day before. I'm also going to rig up some sort of "cut off" switch when I get a chance. In the mean time it is nice to have her back.

Michele

Yay, it's back. Hopefully the security has gone up on it now?

It's easy to check the engine codes. Instructions in howto as well as the SVXipedia on http://svx-iw.com

I'm glad to hear you got her back. I would get an intrusion alarm system in it FAST. Some of them have a pager so you know when it has been touched.

Glad to hear your SVX is back in your care!

If you come to the fall colors meet I'm sure one of us can help you pull the codes (it's one of the things I actually know how to do yay).

Got the code out. It is the right hand side anti-knock sensor. Anyone know where that is located on the engine?

Its under the intake manifold and behind the PS pump. If you remove the PS pump, you should be able to reach it to replace it. The knock sensor itself costs about $60.

For some reason they changed a power steering hose this last time as part of the insurance repair. I expect they pulled the wire off. I'll know Friday morning.

Three full days now without it being stolen......
