That 914 in the link has a 'chalon' kit that was made in the 80's. My 914 weighed in at 2200# before my engine swap, so I figure it should be around 2300# now.

WOW... That's 400 pounds lighter than my SVX

I alway's liked the 914. This is going to be a great car. Maybe you can make it to the Reading SVX meet next year???

But guys i do not recall that the 914 has that front originally? or maybe this is American Spec? the original 914 has a much uglier front end than this one in the pic.
And is that a VW tag i see in the engine bay?

If fits!! I wheeled the engine/tranny under the car and lowered the chassis some to make sure there was clearance all around. I will definately flip the intake manifold and throttle body around. I placed the intake on to see how it would look and it will fit perfectly. Next week I'll get the rest of the engine assembled.

Hate to say it Danny, but Landshark has a point....

At the start of this thread, 914helo mentioned he's using a low mileage Porsche 901 transmission with an adaptor plate to mate it to the EG33. Btw, it's a rwd trans... (why convert a rwd light-weight porsche to awd?)

That is a very tight squeeze. I am think though, the newer 944 i think. they are very common and cheap to come by. They are font engine 4cyl. I wonder what kinda of mayhem they would cause with an eg33

It is a tight squeeze! Hope he has good motor mounts to keep the engine from hitting the frame.

An EG33 in a 944 wouldn't be too bad, but the weight would at least be 600lbs more than the 914...

I haven't figured out the wiring yet. That is going to be 'interesting'. My next project after getting the engine finished is to fabricate an engine mount. I will either bend my original bar or most likely make a new one.

This has to be one of my new top conversion favorites. I thought of it before but i never thought the eg33 would fit in the 914. Good luck.

This is simply badass. I've been busy so I hadn't noticed the thread.

I am curious where you plan on putting a radiator.

Looks good.

What are you going to use for an ECU. The SVX or something else. The IRIS valve needs controling.

Harvey.
