97 OBDII to OBDI?

hi everyone i'm new here but this is an awesome forum for svx's. I don't know if it possible but since Ecutune doesn't make a chip for the 96-97 because we have a OBDII, I was wondering if you could switch the OBDII with a OBDI? What would I need to switch the two? The engines didn't change from 95 to 96 right? So wouldn't it work in theory? Well thanks for any and all suggestions.

You would need to rewire everything. The wiring harness is completely different. It could be done but you would probably need an OBD1 wiring harness.

Huge cost/time in completely changing the wiring harness. Longassname is working on the OBDII version, so hopefully in the next, oh year or so we'll have that one.. (just kidding LAN)
yeah, and then you wouldn't pass any emmissions OBDII test either
