Question Should my side stickers stay or go?

After repainting my center caps along with the mandatory wash-n-wax this weekend, I was looking over my car and trying to decide whether to remove my side stickers or not.

I've seen pics of SVX's with them removed and while it doesn't change the look drastically, it kinda makes the side of the SVX less 'busy'...

So, should they stay or go?

I think you should keep them. It just doesn't look right without them.

You could remove only the SUBARU and keep the SVX part like so:

It seems that USDM SVXs were the only ones fitted with those side mounted badges - Australian and JDM SVXs never had them!

.............and I think that the SVX looks better without them!

I took them off my white car, and I was going to take them off my red car...but all my friends said they like them, and I'm lazy, so I kept them on.

That's an interesting idea. Never considered that...

However, I'm still kinda thinking all or nothing.

I like Mike's suggestion to just keep the SVX part.

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX Classic SVX
I took mine off for two reasons:

The "All Wheel Drive" graphics on the inside of my rear side windows were in conflict with the logo.

But more importantly, the emblem just seemed to look cheap in comparison to the quality of the rest of the car; soft flexible, puffy plastic that seems to ripple and distort with heat and age is not my idea of a quality product.

Just my opinion...

John, that was kinda my thinking as well...

Also, since the JDM and Aussie SVXs didn't have these stickers, this 'badge' must have been an 'afterthought' which Subaru didn't originally intend to have on the car...

John (svxcess) easily has the best looking SVX I've ever seen in person - flawless paint, wheels, body, etc. Since his SVX looks great w/o the stickers, I may just follow his lead as well.

I was originally 50/50, now I'm leaning towards removing it about 80/20.

-Chike

P.S. If I do remove it, I'll sell the badges for $5 shipped to whomever is seriously interested in them.

I think you're right about that, as North American '92s are also badgeless.

I never knew that...

Maybe Subaru designed it for the '93 25th Anniversary SVXs and decided to keep it around in the later MY's???
