Unhappy Considering...

Hola,
Well after about 7 months with the SVX I will admit it's the best car I've driven so far. List being, crappy Toyota Corolla... crappy Mercury Tracer... an Acura TL and of course my fav Subaru SVX.

I bought the car @ 80k and now is turning a few hundred over 100k. In 7 months I've put in 20k =D .. I paid 8000 for it and about 2 months into it, i had to replace the timing belt & Power steering stuff. (i am not really car educated :P )

After that, I have put in a $450 Pioneer dash and a $1300 rims + tire.. Konig and Continnental. Sadly, I just am coming to realization that I just cannot afford to maintain this car. Everything costs too much to fix/replace.

It's a 1996 LSi + rims/tires + dash... I don't know how much to ask for if I was to sell it. I am only considering it for now, because I just love this car too much. Just wondering, bouncing ideas.. =]

You didnt seem to spend as much on repairs as you did on the stereo and rims from your post. I'd say cut back on the mods and keep it.

Just fix, and don't replace.

Re: Considering...

Starshot, what I don't get is how everything you've listed adds up to 20K? How much did the timing belt and power steering replacemnt cost? I can't see it running more than $1,500 even at the most pricey dealership? I estimate your total costs being in the 12-13K range...

He didn't claim to have spent $20k. He said he put on 20k miles.
