Talking Road trip to Minneapolis!

Early tomorrow morning my wife and I are going to hop in the SVX and head to Minneapolis. A friend of mine is getting married and, since he stood at my wedding, I guess I should stand at his.

I'll be in town Friday night through late morning/early afternoon Sunday. Then we make the long trip back.

I don't think she's particularly looking forward to the trip, and would have rather flown, but I think a long drive in the SVX on a sunny spring day will be great.

Of course, I won't be allowed to do it the whole way with the windows down, but that's okay.

If you're in the Twin Cities, and you'll have the free time, maybe lunch before we leave on Sunday could be arranged. I know it's short notice, sorry. PM me if you think you can manage and I'll send you my cell phone number.

I am planning on heading home (non-school home) this weekend, just south of Minneapolis. Where exactly are you planning on hangin'/staying? You should PM some other MN members... like Alex (alex_umn)... then you could also see the STi 6 speed SVX!

He decided to sell his 5MT parts? He wasn't sure what he was gonna do with 'em last time I saw him a few weeks ago. Only reason I never asked him if I could buy the parts from him was that I want to put the WRX tranny in my SVX. Sucks when you can't drive your SVX, doesn't it? Mine has been out of commision for over a year now (no money to spare).

Also, if Alex were to attend, anyone who hasen't heard the Stebro exhaust could hear that as well (sounds nice).

I think all of us that won't be there are VERY sorry we won't be there. I know I've wanted to go since the first year, but the timing is always terrible.

That was a dang quick response. I've just said, "my SVX is a project car and I will never sell her!" I love ma' baby too darn much to get rid of her.

You thinking about performance mods (IE: supercharging) after the 5MT goes in? Lord knows I need mine to be breaking into 13's sometime down the road.

I wonder if Alex has put new tires on? He had nobby Blizzaks on there before... plenty of road noise. In my opinion the shifter feels great (really firm - I'm used to crap) and it pulls sooo much harder than stock. Pushing it hard onto the freeway put a huge grin on my face, and there was three of us in the car, too!

Yeah I'll never get rid of mine....
I just have to get more is all

I'm not sure what I will be doing performance wise to the engine yet.

next project is Steves bumper and side skirts
then the GC coil over suspension kit.

and a carputer this summer.

we'll see if I can make my own mods for the engine right now not priority...

resurrection first..

True, getting it up and running is the most important thing. I still can't afford to do that. Already have Steve's bumper... sitting in the garage by the car. I want to put on Porter's GC springs as well. Even though she won't really drive, I may just finish the bumper and/or the springs this summer (have had the Koni's in for a couple years now). Too bad it would be tough to get SVXi down here (Mankato). I get to use the auto shop all the time for my major. Hopefully I will get to take advantage of the 2 frame contact lifts, practically any tool you can think of, engine and chasis (2 wheel ) dynos, flow test bench, CNC, etc., in order to improve the SVX. A tranny swap will be much easier in our shop.
