Awesome Road Trip

WOW:

Bought a clean '95 LSi last June from a dealer in Salt Lake. Drove it to Chicago to use as my "away from home" work car, as I was doing a lot of work in Chicago. Ended up not spending as much time in Chicago as I thought, so brought the care home to San Francisco last week.

Left Chicago at 3:30 on Sunday, arrived West of Omaha (500 miles) at 11:30pm.

Left the next morning at 5am Central time, and 23 hours and 1,700 miles later, pulled up my driveway. Cruised accross Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada at 85 - 90 mph, rock solid, cruises somewhat more stable than my C-Class Mercedes, and WAY BETTER than my Lexus SC430.

Tragedy that you can't get one new!

Unfortunately, must sell it (no room to keep it). See my post in "For Sale".

That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed your SVX on such a long trip. Question: What kind of gas mileage did you average for the entire trip?

-Chike

P.S. You should put some pics of your car up in your locker. Burgundy is a beautiful color!

You should not sell this car
You should get our help to fix it up.
I have parts galore, but it sounds as if you have a great working basic car.
Wanna sell it cheap, let me know.

btw... we have a Reno meet scheduled in june...

Re: Mileage

That's great mileage for driving at those speeds. Good luck with your sale!!!

Awesome road trip

While my wife has been pushing me to sell the SVX (our 3rd car), she also suggested a solution to the storage proble.

I have a small homebuilt airplane (my other passion) in a hanger that has room for the SVX. I'm moving it there today (I travel almost full-time in my work - I own a medical practice management company - which is why I'm unwilling to leave the SVX on the street for 1-2 week at a time, specially with the fog we get each evening).

So, while I'll still part with the car for the right price, I'm not in a hurry to sell because of potential damage to the car.

And, if my schedule allows, I'm going to take the short (for an SVX) drive to Reno in June.
