We have those where I work. Awesome idea - I was amazed the first time I saw them.

Makes it hard to lay an assgasket on them though.

An "assgasket"! LMAO!

Never thought of that aspect of a spring-loaded toilet seat. In a public restroom an ass-gasket is a critical component when performing a colon flush. The ass-gasket is the only thing protecting your vital components from harmful contaminants that flourish on the public tushie lifts.

Perhaps the home market would be a better place to sell the spring loaded toilet seat. Or you could always make one with a catch that would keep the seat down until flushed. Pulling the lever to flush would release the catch and allow the seat to raise automagically.

I've had another idea for a while.
A refrigerator door that is polarized so you can push a button and it is clear/see-thru - then push a button and the polarized screen makes it black - hiding the contents.

No more wife screaming about air-conditioning the house with the open door while I am browsing the grindage.

good idea. i've read in Pop Sci/Pop Mechanics that future cars would have auto-tint glass, and that defrosters would be obsolete - a tiny electrical current will be run through a special glass, and ice molecules cannot not stick to it. i'm still waiting for that technology.

i do like the heated wiper strips in newer Subies. why aftermarket no make these for all cars? plug into cig lighter or something?

no, but thats a good idea, too. would make wiper blade changes pricey , though, so i don't see why car manufacturers haven't done it yet!

some newer Subes have a thin defroster strip in the glass (like on a rear window) along the base of the windshield that the wiper blades park on.

i couldn't find a pic, but i did find this...
http://www.buyhotshot.com/why.asp?ins=5

i've seen these heated fluid thingys in J.C. Whitney, too.

Oh, ah, right. He, he, he. Did I say anything about heated wiper blades? SO ANYWAY, the Dodge Caravans have had that wiper defroster for a few years now, pretty good idea. Keeps it so you don't have to keep your def on to keep your windshild from freezing. What ever happend to the electric defrosters in the glass like on the older Tauruses? Even thoe they were crap they seemed like a good idea.

Ah, just like the sunroof on the Maybach's sunroof...it's a little costly though.

I think they call it "electro-transparent".
