one-touch-UP power window
i have a 92 ls-l with one-touch-UP power window that i have become quite attached to. my 97 lsi doesn't seem to have this feature. does anyone know when and why this feature got discontinued? or has my 92 been modified? or is my 97 broken? i'd like to know because it might have an impact on my next svx purchase. thanks.

Well the answer is simple. After 92 (not sure if 93s had them too), SOA had so many safety complaints that they took them out.
Try to put your head in the window and pull it up on auto up. It will not stop. I tried it with my hand on my old 92 once. Nearly chopped my hand off. The newer cars have auto stop with sensors where if it feels that someone is blocking the window, it will stop. On the SVX, it did not do that. As far as I know, 94+ SVXes do not have that feature. Maybe 93s as well. L

On a second though, and to create another post, you can get the 92 window master switch cluster and replace it with the 94+ models and it should do auto up.

But to answer your question, yes you can take the good button assembly and mate it to the older circuit board. Please do not do this if you have children. I do not want to hear of any injuries due to the auto up. I have the auto up on both my SVXs but I do not have children and no children ever go near my SVX. If I ever (no chance in hell) sell any of them, I will provide the buyer with instructions on how to disable the auto up. Doug
