So... How would one obtain such a device? I may not have a garage, but my grandmother does.. Who'se to say I don't park there from time to time?

Also, where do you get radar scramblers? I've never been pulled over in my SVX but I'm sure as hell pushing my luck by doing 130ish on the highway..

Larry, the only speed cameras over here still using radar are the static roadside ones.

The traffic police tend to use the laser guns because of better accuracy, narrower beam angle and consequently better selectivity over a longer range. Also they get an almost instantaneous readout, so you don't have time to react and slow down, assuming that you had a detector.

The best solution I have seen is a garage door opener that detects and scrambles laser signals as an [unfortunate] byproduct of using a laser signal to open your door.

You DO need to have a garage door that it opens though. If the police detect you have a "blocker" they will confiscate your car. The courts will hammer you if you don't actually have a door opening use for the device. Which they will confiscate anyway.

Stealth is badly needed.

Joe,

In the states we always lag in technology.

The problem with mixing TiO is that it won't stay in suspension.

My old Navigon from 2 years ago works fine. It was $70 off woot.com at the time.

Cool Re: GPSs that DO work on dash of SVX

I have been using my Navman products for past 5 years (both iCN630 & iCN330)- mounted in the area where the speedo is - don't need speedo or revs as speed is from GPS read-out.

I use it without any external antenna.

I used to work for Navman as their PCB layout guy..........until Mitac took over & made 40 hardware guys redundant.

Re: GPSs that DO work on dash of SVX

I use my Eten X800 pda/cell, it runs on windows mobile 6.1, I loaded TomTom on it since it has GPS chips onboard. I just throw it on the passenger seat or center consol and it works perfectly.
